If you’re looking for a brew with a view, look no further than Dirt Farm Brewing in Bluemont, Virginia. Perched atop the eastern edge of the Blue Ridge mountain range, Dirt Farm has abundant outdoor seating, tasty beverages, and onsite food.
Virginia’s brewery scene has been booming in recent years, and Dirt Farm Brewing (founded in 2012) is one of the success stories. With several beers on tap, as well as a hard seltzer option, you will be sure to find something that you enjoy. The sour cherry ale named Tart 31 seems to be a favorite for many that visit. If you are visiting in the fall, then also consider trying their Pumpkin Ale.
The food options are eclectic. You’ll find chicken nachos (with delightfully crispy nacho chips), short rib and rice bowls, and many other interesting choices. Outside food and drink isn’t permitted, so plan ahead if you’re not interested in ordering food.
Picnic benches are plentiful, and the view is spectacular. The outdoor seating is both family friendly and dog friendly, so don’t leave your little ones (or furry friends) at home. There is also cornhole for those that want to enjoy a beer-friendly activity while taking in the views. But make sure to show up early, because it is a popular spot on nice days. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you’re interested to know what is on tap before visiting, you can check out their tap list at https://dirtfarmbrewing.com/whats-on-tap/. Beers are rotated fairly frequently, so it’s worth looking ahead. They also offer to-go options, but unfortunately do not currently offer growler refills.
Dirt Farm Brewing is located at 18701 Foggy Bottom Road, Bluemont, VA 20135, and is open daily from 12:00 pm to 7:00pm (or until dusk on Fridays and Saturdays).
